Le caillebotis est une structure métallique en acier galvanisé sur laquelle on pose le matelas de saut à la perche. Ainsi surélevé, le sautoir est protégé de la pluie qui pourrait stagner au sol et l’abîmer, mais aussi le caillebotis permet à l’air de circuler sous le matelas.
