The 3000 metres steeplechase is a 3000-meter, (seven and a half laps) obstacle race with four ordinary barriers and one water jump.
 
During the 2019/2020 competition rules release, the IAAF announced changes concerning the height of the steeplechase barriers for U18 Men. To ensure a better transition for men under 18 years (U18) and to establish consistency, a new height of 838 mm will be implemented.
The U18 Men category will evolve at 3000m steeple on hedges of 838 mm instead of 914 mm today.
 
Adapting existing equipment is possible, for almost all barriers, it will be possible to drill a hole on halfway between the existing holes. At the same time, Dimasport is now offering steeplechase barrier to the new IAAF standards, so that today's investments meet the requirements of tomorrow.
